A prescribed identifiable afixed collection of matter(liquid and gas) which is completly enclosed with in adefinite region
and whose behaviour is being investigate  it is known as thermodynamic system
example steam boiler, pistion cylinder arrangment, pump, turbine etc.

a system contains quantity of steam ,amixture of vapur. thus surrounding is the combination of matter and its contains many system so surroundig is working like a system



classification of thermodyanmic system

thermodyanmic system is divded in  many types :_

1) closed system  2) open system  3) isolated system

open system -those system which transfer mass and energy  of the suurounding  are known as open system

2) closed system-  which system whose transfer energy but mass dont transfer of surrounding are known as closed system
example boiler  pump , throotlng prcess,

3)isolated syetem-that system  whose does not transfer mass and energy  are knon as isolated system
